THE PROGRAM
The Postgraduate Program in Operations Research (Acronym PPG-PO in Portuguese) is an association of the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (Acronym ITA in Portuguese) with the Institute for Science and Technology of the Federal University of São Paulo (Acronym UNIFESP in Portuguese), top-5 in Latin America according to Times Higehr Education, to offer groundbreaking Master and Doctoral programs in Industrial Engineering/Operations Research.
The target audience of the program includes students graduating from Engineering
or related fields (such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Natural Science
and Technology, among others) that have a good quantitative background.
AREAS OF RESEARCH
The research student may select one of the three areas of research within the program:
- DATA SCIENCE
This area brings together research that focuses on extracting knowledge from different data sources combined with analysis and processing techniques to discover the knowledge in different areas of domains such as aerospace, health, governance, and economics. - DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM
This area researches strategies, methods, and models to support the decision-making process. - OPTIMIZATION
This area focuses on the study of methods and models of operations research that generate exact and/or approximate solutions to optimization problems.

- Undergraduate degree in the STEM area or a related subject
- Master is a plus for the Doctoral Program
